This started as a Mexican riff on the Old Fashioned (hence the name: Old Fashion in bad Spanish), and that's essentially what it is, but the emphasis on fruit and spice--not to mention the reposado tequila being a softer spirit than rye--makes it a much less bracing sipper. Using maraschino-infused moonshine gives it a bit more backbone, but Luxardo should replace it fine.
Moda Viejo
Build in rocks glass: cinnamon sugar cube (find in middle-eastern markets) doused with bitters [I used vintage Unterberg, but Angostura or Peychaud's should work to your taste] and crushed.
Add: 2 oz. Ambhar reposado tequila
1/2 oz. Cuarenta Y Tres Licor
1/2 oz. Ole Smoky Moonshine Cherry liquid
Stir gently with orange & lemon peels
